TYRIN’S DAY OF SHOPPING

Fifteen-year-old Tyrin lives in Miami and is battling with the hardships of Sickle-Cell Anemia. Like most teens his age he is tech savvy and likes to draw, play video games, make computer animations and listen to music in his spare time. Tyrin’s wish to have a shopping spree at the Sawgrass Mills Mall took place on his birthday, May 21, and boy was he ever excited. Tyrin has been looking forward to his big day for a long time and he had quite a list built up: including new shoes, a digital camera, an i-pod touch and a fishing rod among other things. Imagine, something as simple as a new pair of shoes can give a child the gift of hope and the strength to keep fighting one more day. We want to thank all our Members who continue to donate to this worthy cause. We sincerely appreciate all your support, and we know little Tyrin does too!

We are so excited! Our Member participation in the Wish for Change program has exploded! If you haven't heard, Waiora partnered with the Make A Wish Foundation, an organization dedicated to granting wishes for children with life-threatening diseases. We committed to a wish per month, and we also created the program, Wish for Change, that allows Members to donate as much or as little as they like. The response has been overwhelming, and we're especially pleased to see people are choosing to donate more than just the change from their commissions checks!

We've granted wishes like that of little Andrea, who dreamed of being a princess, and Ben, who wanted to travel to Puerto Rico to see relatives he's never met! Wishes like these make an amazing difference in the quality of these children's lives. It's truly amazing how much hope is related to healing. When one of these children learns that they have the opportunity to live out one of their dreams, they have something to look forward to; it really keeps them going!

Thank you so much to all of you who have helped contribute to this selfless and worthy cause, and to those who continue to do so each month. The more our Members help, the more wishes we can grant, touching the lives of these brave young souls. Children are our future, and they deserve everything we can give them!
